ER DU FIGURTEATERETS NYE KUNSTNERISKE LEDER?
Vær med å skape teaterproduksjoner i verdensklasse med kunstnere fra hele verden, fra Figurteatrets base i teaterbygda Stamsund, midt i vakre Lofoten. Som Kunstnerisk leder er du ansvarlig for teatrets kunstneriske råd, og velger teatrets samprodusenter og program. Du samarbeider i et team bestående av totalt 6 personer. Disse er daglig leder (med administrasjons og personalansvar), produsent, to teknikere, produksjonsassistent/renholder og kunstnerisk leder. I tillegg til de hvert år cirka 100 gjestende kunstnere og medarbeidere i besøkende samproduksjoner og residensopphold.
Vår kunstneriske leder vil være en viktig bidragsyter i en svært spennende tid vi går i møte. Vertskommune og fylke samarbeider nemlig aktivt for mer hensiktsmessige produksjonslokaler for Figurteatret. Parallelt med arbeidet for nytt teaterbygg arbeides det aktivt for økt statlig støtte til Figurteatret, med muligheter for utvidet mandat og innhold. Nordlands fylkeshovedstad Bodø er Europeisk kulturhovedstad i 2024, Figurteatret skal bidra til Bodø 2024 og regionens + kulturelle utvikling.
Litt om oss:
Figurteatret i Nordland ligger i Stamsund, i hjertet av Lofoten, ca. 20 minutter fra Leknes Lufthavn. Stamsund er ett av de stedene i Lofoten hvor Hurtigruta legger til kai. Teatret er en liten arbeidsplass med prøvesaler, verksteder og kontorer. Det er i dag 6 fast ansatte.
Hvert år kommer ca. 100 scenekunstnere fra hele verden til teatret, for å få hjelp til å lage sine scenekunstproduksjoner, som årlig spilles i 20-25 land. Fiskeværet Stamsund er i dag særlig kjent for sitt internasjonale teatermiljø. Bygda rommer hele 5 teater-grupper og organisasjoner. Årlig arrangeres Stamsund Teaterfestival, en internasjonalt anerkjent festival for scenekunst. Det øvrige kulturtilbudet i Lofoten er også rikt, med årlige festivaler innen kunst og musikk. Lofoten har ett av de vakreste turområder i Norge, og byr på gode muligheter for både moderate og ekstreme fritidsaktiviteter.
Teatret er organisert som en seksjon i Kulturutvikling, i avdeling for Samfunnsutvikling i Nordland Fylkeskommune.
Stillingens ansvars- og fagområde:
- Rekruttering av samprodusenter og prosjekter
- Kvalitetssikring av teaterproduksjonen

Bakgrunn:
- Høyere utdanning innen regi og dramaturgi
- Erfaring fra teaterproduksjon, internasjonal scenekunst, internasjonalt prosjektsamarbeid og nettverksarbeid
- Både enkeltkunstnere og duoer med et kunstnerskap og erfaring fra kunstnerisk ledelse av teaterkompanier oppfordres til å søke
- Søkerne må beherske enten norsk eller engelsk både muntlig og skriftlig

Åremål:
Stillingen tilbys som en åremålsstilling med en kontraktslengde på 4 år. Når åremålsperioden er over, kan det søkes om forlengelse med 4 nye år. Når åremålsperioden er over, medfører dette ingen rett til fast stilling i organisasjonen. Kontraktsperiode: August 2022 – august 2026. Med dette ønsker vi å understreke at retrettstilling ikke er knyttet til åremålet.

ARE YOU NORDLAND VISUAL THEATRE'S NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTOR?
Join us in creating world class theatre productions in collaboration with artists from all over the world, from Nordland Visual Theatre’s (NVT, aka Figurteatret i Nordland) base in Stamsund, a village in the centre of the beautiful Lofoten islands. As the Artistic Director you will lead NVT’s artistic council, with a mandate to select and program the co-producers, productions and residency’s. You will work with the theatres team, who is yourself, one producer, two technicians, one production assistant and the Admin. Director who is responsible of the administration and personnel. And in addition, the approx. 100 yearly visitors and guestworkers, co-producers and artists connected to the different co-productions and residencies.
The Artistic Director will play an important part in very exiting times for NVT, both our host municipality and the county administration has joined forces to secure better and more suitable production facilities, in form of a new theatre building for NVT. In parallel to this effort the joint effort aims to increase NVT’s governmental financial support, which will open new possibilities regarding both artistic content and mandate. Nordland county’s capital Bodø will be a European Capital of Culture in 2024, NVT will contribute to Bodø 2024 and the regions cultural development.
About us:
Nordland Visual Theatre (aka NVT and Figurteatret i Nordland) is based in Stamsund, in the heart of Lofoten, approx. 20 min. from Leknes airport. Stamsund is one of the ports for the daily Costal Express Boat (Hurtigruten). NVT is a workplace with production spaces, workshops and offices. The regular staff consists of 6 persons.
Each year approximately 100 guestworkers and artists from all over the world visits NVT, to get help with the creation of their theatre productions. These theatre shows can each year be seen in 20-25 countries all over the world. The fishing port and village Stamsund is known for its international theatre and art community. There is five theatres and organisations in the village, among those the renowned annual Stamsund Theatre Festival. Lofotens art life is rich and varied with festivals for both visual arts and music. Some of Norway’s most beautiful nature and hiking area are found in Lofoten, a nature which invites to both moderate and extreme nature activities.
NVT is organized as a department of Nordland County Councils department for Cultural development, within the section of Society development.
Responsibilities and professional field:
- Recruitment of co-producers and projects
- Securing the quality of the productions
- Coaching, advising and follow up of the co-producers and projects
- Professional and pedagogical program
- Profile and artistic program
- Reports, planning and development
Background:
- Higher education within theatre directing and dramaturgy
- Experience from theatre production, international stage art, international project collaborations and networking
- Both single artists and duos with an oeuvre and experience from artistic management of theatre companies may apply.
- Applicants need to master either Norwegian or English as their spoken and written language.
We are looking for someone who:

- Has an interest for theatre art, with a main focus on visual- and puppet theatre
- Has a clear artistic vision and a professional theatre competence

Fixed term:
The position will be offered at fixed term position with a contract length of 4 years. After the completion of the 4 years, it is possible to apply for an extension of 4 new years. When the fixed term is over, there will not be any rights for a fixed position within the organisation.
Period of engagement: August 2022 – August 2026.
